I had a little "me" time this past cold, rainy, nasty Saturday we had here in Austin, in which I did a little shopping (browsing at Home Goods), thinking, and since the weather was blah I popped into La Madeleine to indulge in a cafe mocha. They seriously have the best cafe mocha with soy, no whip. Hands down. I don't go there very often, so I felt this was a special treat for me. (It's the little things=) While I was there, I was browsing, (I mean drooling) over the pastries and got the idea to make some little croissants for my hubby.
Here's how I made them:
I already had a package of crescent rolls in the fridge, chocolate chips, and some shaved almonds. I rolled out the crescent rolls put a handful of chocolate chips and a sprinkle of almonds, rolled up, baked for 10 minutes, add a little powdered sugar, and viola!
Matt really liked them, and we both think they actually taste better re-heated for about 15 seconds in the microwave, the crescent gets softer and butterier, (did I just make that word up?) the chocolate chips melt...ahhhh a heavenly, sweet, yummy treat!
How was your weekend?
